The
existing dining room had a north facing wall, one small
window facing east, and no access to the backyard from
the main living areas. An indoor/outdoor space was created
by removing the
north
wall and installing French doors to
open up onto a timber deck with privacy screening. This
allows better
airflow, plenty of natural light
and access to
the patio area and backyard.
The walls were painted in Dulux “Antique White USA”, with
an “Avocado”
feature wall. New furniture was purchased
to create a relaxed family living space with plenty of
storage.
Solid timber flooring was installed throughout the living area,
kitchen and dining room. The new dining room was re-designed
using the
space from the formal lounge room to create 2 separate rooms. Walls
were painted in Dulux
“Antique White USA” and the carpet replaced. Neutral tones with
highlights of green
and brown, together with
natural textures were used throughout the living areas to complete
the look.
